BlueDental Preferred offers a broad range of coverage of routine dental services and major dental procedures with access to one of the largest provider networks in the country.

BlueDental Preferred meets the requirements of the Affordable Care Act (ACA) and offers the following advantages:

  • No charge for oral exams, cleanings and X-rays when you visit an in-network provider
  • No charge for in-network covered services for members age 19 and under after they reach the $350 out-of-pocket maximum

  • No claim forms to file when using an in-network provider

How To Use Your Benefits

The plan offers wide-ranging dental coverage and gives you freedom to choose any dentist you want to use. However, your out-of-pocket costs will be higher if you select a provider that is not participating in the network. Referrals are not required, meaning you can seek care whenever, and from whomever, you choose.

When you enroll, you will receive a membership card and detailed information packet.

When you need care, just call your dental provider and make an appointment. Be sure to take your card with you! You can access Find a Provider to find an in-network provider near you. Select the option for "Preferred Dental (PPO), DP is noted on your ID card". If you receive care from an in-network provider, the dentist will submit all the necessary forms. Members who use a non-participating provider may be required to pay the full cost at the time of service and will need to submit a claim form to be reimbursed for covered services.
