David Corkum Biography

David J. Corkum is Executive Vice President of Commercial Markets at CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield. In this role, he oversees the Large Group Division which provides health insurance coverage and administrative services to 3.4 million members throughout the mid-Atlantic region and across the country. Mr. Corkum is responsible for strategy, business development, and operational services for CareFirst’s largest and most complex commercial, state, labor and municipal customer segments. Prior to joining CareFirst, Mr. Corkum served as Senior Vice President of Commercial Markets for BlueCross BlueShield of Minnesota, providing strategic direction and overall management for the Plan’s commercial business.

In his 35 years of experiences in health care, Mr. Corkum has worked with some of the nation's largest employers, and has built an impressive record of accomplishment.
