A self-proclaimed “fad dieter” who struggled with weight issues much of her life, Amy decided it was finally time to take weight loss seriously shortly after starting a new job. She recalls, “For the first time, I admitted to myself out loud that there was a problem and I needed to fix it.”
Fortunately, the health benefits package offered by her new employer included a wellness program. As part of the program, she had to complete certain steps including an online health assessment. After Amy finished her assessment and was reading more about the program, she noticed some information about Innergy®, a long-term weight loss solution. Even though she’d started losing weight on her own, she figured a little help couldn’t hurt so she submitted her contact information.
Amy’s Coaching Experience
Amy says participating in Innergy has been an “extremely positive experience.” She believes what sets this program apart from other diets she’s tried comes down to two things: having a personal coach and tracking your food and exercise. Amy admits, “Having the coach keeps me accountable. I don’t want to let her down or not do something I said I was going to do. Her support has pushed me to keep things up and to live a better life overall!”
A visual person, Amy has also found value in the tracking component. “To see your actual caloric intake and whether you’re meeting your goals is just really beneficial.” To help her keep track on the go, Amy downloaded the app so she could use the tracker on her phone.
During her first year in the program, Amy has lost 80 pounds, with plans to lose even more.
Even though she’d never taken advantage of an employer’s wellness program before, Amy found such value in Innergy she’s even told a few friends. “I’m so grateful there are these kinds of programs. It’s a resource you can use at your convenience and it’s there for you; at no extra cost!”
Asked what she would say to someone who was contemplating whether or not to participate in the Innergy program, Amy says, “Innergy is worth it. It doesn’t require that much from you – you don’t have to go to a meeting every week and weigh in and share your story with a lot of other people. I’d have the calls with my coach on my commute home. It was easy. There’s a very comforting feeling that you can talk openly and freely, knowing there is someone out there rooting for you, helping you make the right decisions and holding you accountable.”
