CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield Announces New Chief Digital Information Officer to Lead Enterprise Transformation

Dori Henderson will lead technology organization evolution to digital business operations

Baltimore/Washington, D.C. – CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield (CareFirst), the largest not-for-profit health plan in the mid-Atlantic region, has named Dorothea “Dori” Henderson as its Senior Vice President, Chief Digital Information Officer after an extensive executive search.

In this role, Henderson will be responsible for leading CareFirst’s Information Technology (IT) organization, working to transform the enterprise IT architecture to better support CareFirst employees, members, providers and communities.

“Dori brings a customer-centric focus on leveraging technology to drive business value through digital transformation and a passion for a robust user experience that bolsters business continuity,” said Rose Megian, Executive Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer of CareFirst.

In her new role, she will drive and align the IT executives across strategy, transformation objectives, cybersecurity and optimization of day-to-day IT operations. Additionally, her team will continue to lead efforts to modernize CareFirst workplaces, enhancing the company's workforce of the future strategy by implementing first-class technology in reimagined office spaces that will enable the hybrid workforce to seamlessly connect.

Henderson joined CareFirst in August 2021 as Vice President of Cloud Engineering & Technology Operations, where she was responsible for leading and transforming infrastructure, operations, command center, cloud engineering, and IT end-user experience. She was also responsible for driving operational excellence and vital business planning across the IT organization.

Before joining CareFirst, Henderson served as Vice President of Business Aviation Digital Solutions at Collins Aerospace, a division of Raytheon Technologies, responsible for driving growth in the business aviation vertical market, delivering flight operations digital solutions supporting 6,000 aircraft and providing shared services focused on next-generation technologies and data management across the Information Management Services business.
