If you are a CareFirst member, you can find your benefit details in My Account. After you log in or register, click on Benefit Details listed under Coverage in the top toolbar. Then select Maternity/OB-GYN/Fertility and click the link of the service you are interested in for details about what your plan covers. Call 800-535-9700 anytime, day or night, for guidance in any non-emergency situation. This service is free, confidential and available at no cost. The Nurse Advice Line can help you:

  • Decide when to visit your doctor, urgent care or emergency room
  • Understand your medication
  • Find in-network doctors and prepare for an appointment
  • Learn about preventive care

If you have a high-risk pregnancy , our care management program can provide you with extra support at no cost.  Our Care Management team supports people with physical or emotional needs before, after or during pregnancy. Our Care Management team can also assist in addressing factors at home that limit getting or staying healthy.

Once you enroll, your nurse care manager will meet with you one on one by phone to answer your questions, connect you to resources and help you understand and follow guidance from your provider.

Pregnancy sometimes comes with feelings of sadness, mood swings, anxiety and trouble sleeping. CareFirst’s Behavioral Health team is here to help. You can reach out behavioral health support line at 800-245-7013. We’re available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

Whether you’re coping with your pregnancy or adjusting to motherhood, our licensed care management professionals are available to assist you in navigating a variety of helpful tools (e.g., therapy appointment scheduling, substance use, etc.).

We’ve compiled a list of providers who specialize in providing behavioral health services to pregnant persons. You may also connect with a therapist or psychiatrist from the comfort of your home using CloseKnit or visit our Behavioral Health tab on our Wellness Programs Overview page.

Our CareFirst Community Engagement team can answer your questions about billing, claims and benefits, offer free fitness and health education classes and much more. Check out our calendar of events. Services and classes provided by the Community Engagement team are available at no cost to you, and are available to anyone, regardless of your health plan.
